Best Shooter On The 360

This game had so much hype around it, I was worried that the game would feel rushed or unfinished. However Bungie sure did deliver with this gem of a game. The graphics were great for the time, the characters are interesting, the multi-player is brilliant, and the game in general is just fun to play.

However some things were not up to scratch for me. For example, some of the level design is just terrible. The level "Cortana" is just boring, and it lets the game down as a whole. Another bad thing is that you have to either have to buy every DLC or the ODST Mythic disk just to play any good playlist online.

In conclusion, this game is very much worth buying and I very highly recommend. But if you are looking for a better Campaign experience, go for Halo 3 ODST.

I don't know what the fuss is about

This game is extremely overrated! The graphics are not that good and the gameplay is dull. Maybe it's because I'm not a huge fan of FPS.

complete fun

This game is the best halo game so far. The graphics are superb, the multiplayer function is awesome and the amount of weapons and vehicles is phenomenal.

The storyline is easy to follow and the gameplay is very hard on legendary, so if you are new to halo then it would be best to start off with either normal or easy.

If you have Xbox live then this is probably one of the best games you will ever own as it is brilliant when you play it online.

All in all, a very good game definitely worth the price.

The definition of Epic.

Halo 3 is the pride of the Xbox 360. It not only had some of the greatest visuals of its time but was a unique and exciting FPS. This is still true to the present day. Halo 3 is the nearest to gaming perfection that any game has achieved to date. In summary Halo 3 is BEAST!

Simply Unbeatable

Pros:
- Godly music. Seriously, even if you somehow hate everything else about the game, you can at least admit the music is damn good. :p Probably one of the best soundtracks to any game or movie I've ever played/watched.
- Brilliantly varied gameplay that's both deep and easy to get into at the same time. Never gets boring. The controls are rock solid as well.
- An unprecenedted level of options and gamemodes. There's your average FPS campaign (but alot better), but with it options for 2 player splitscreen co-op or 4 player online, plus a scoring system and a set of skulls that are hidden in the levels and once found can be used as game modifiers to unlock extra NPC dialogue, play without a HUD, double the enemies health, give the enmies more grenades etc.
Then once you've played the campaign to death you can go back and take videos or photos of your triumphs with Theatre and share them on the internet or with friends on Xbox Live.
And that's just the campaign :p.
You can also use theatre on the multiplayer, use it to save and rewatch your best matches and killstreaks. Then there's also froge, which allows you to go into any of the 2-something multiplayer maps (which, by the way, are completely new and not just copy/pasted from the campaign like certain other series) and move around objects and completely change the maps. You can then go and play it in custom games with your friends or share it with others.
The multiplayer itself also has a number of options in Custom Games, allowing you to change everything from starting weapons to time limit. The combinaton of this and Forge has led to some great gametypes such as Rocket Race and Grifball (google 'em).
You can get up to three guests around and all play multiplayer on the same TV as well, even if that means online (it signs them into temporary guest accounts).
No, I'm not done yet. Now you want to play you have a choice of loads of different playlists, and every weekend there's a Double XP playlist that can vary from Team Flag (CTF only) to Living Dead (zombies!!!).
I'm not sure any console game can match Halo 3's multitude of gametypes; Infection, Assault, VIP, Slayer, Juggernaut, CTF, Territories, Team Slayer (and that's just the base set, not including sub types or custom-made ones).
- A good set of weapons, vehicles and equipment that's both large and well balanced (if not by power then by reload times, accuracy, charge time, limited ammo etc).
- Polished to death, very few bugs or glitches. Framerate rarely goes down, and when it does it's usually in splitscreen with 1000's of things happening on-screen.
- A good campaign with excellent set pieces, good voice acting, superbly directed cutscenes and an above average story.

Cons:
- Graphics, although very pretty artistically, are slightly outdated at the time of writing. However, considering the 4 player splitscreen and size of the levels, this can easily be forgiven.

Bring on Reach!
